Our fleet is fully certified to operate under very restricted visibility conditions and is 100% Stage III/Chapter III compliant.
Polar also has completed the International Air Transport Association抯 Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), a globally recognized safety and quality standard following a stringent audit of its operational standards and procedures.

History:
Polar抯 commitment and ability to serve the general shipping public is bolstered by its strategic relationship with DHL Express which makes DHL an anchor customer and establishes strict flight performance standards. Polar offers the shipping public convenient schedules in desirable air cargo markets. There is ample capacity available Polar抯 flights to meet the needs of its freight-forwarder customers.
One of the key all-cargo carriers in the world, Polar has expanded from an initial flight from New York to Shannon, Ireland, to a scheduled route network serving the world抯 major economic regions. Polar抯 揅ircle P? logo is now a common sight at major international airports.
In November 2001, Polar was acquired by Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, whose Atlas Air, Inc. subsidiary is the world抯 leading provider of ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) freighter leasing.
In June 2007, Polar closed on a strategic transaction with DHL Express that gives DHL a 49% equity interest, including a 25% voting interest, in Polar. A related commercial arrangement includes blocked-space on Polar flights and flight-service support agreements, ensuring that DHL Express has access to aircraft capacity in key global markets.
At the same time, Polar continues to serve its freight-forwarder customers with convenient schedules on existing routes.
